Well then Doug, we'll have to breakout our tubes and hit a stream when the weather gets nice. What part of the Finger Lakes region are you in??

Cheesy  Hi Sue , I think you got my name mixed up with Doug , but if not I am 20miles North of Watkins Glen on 414 & just 9 miles North of Valois Gully ware I do most of my gold panning . I'm a mile South of Ovid , N. Y. 7480 on Route 414 . Yeah Sue , I just can't wait myself to get out & start panning & do some fossil & metal detecting here soon . It's been one long boring winter . Sue , you will love using your sucker tube when you get out to start gold panning . I'm going to have to get use to using my new 3" sucker tube I just bought , it's a bit bigger that my 2" sucker tube . I think it may be a little harder to hang on to being a bit larger rounded but hopefully I'll be able to move more gravel with it than the 2" sucher tube . I also bought some attachment nozzeals for my 2" sucker tube so I can put on the end of it to clean out cracks & crevices . Well Sue , you take care , have a nice week , will talk to you later . I'm sorry Jack..Doug is Whitehunter on here but we still have a standing dates this spring & summer to get out for some awesome fossiling/detecting/prospecting/relic hunting together too... Cheesy , can't wait. When I was up there last Aug. I drove right past you not knowing that is where you live. I stopped in Valois, didn't realize that was your car sitting there or I would have walked down in to find ya, then drove up to Ovid and from there headed down 96 to Trumansburg, explored/hiked the park there and then headed to Ithaca for the night and more waterfall hunting...the night before I stayed in Watkins Glen. I'm so in love with that area up there..incredible!!

Suzie, you bet! I'd love to meet you and find some gold with you sometime. I am from Elbridge. That's just north of Skaneateles on Route 5. I've only been to Valois so far. I'm a real rookie when it comes to prospecting; but I'm ready to try. I'm looking forward to breaking out the metal detector and making a few road trips looking for treasures. Let's keep in touch somehow so we can make a plan. Feel free to email with any ideas, Ok?

Thanks everyone, what a wonderful surprise..I have a sucker tube!! I've wanted one for so long. I have to thank my kids though..I used a combination of their birthdays/ages for the number I chose..now if it would just work with the lottery... Cheesy .

Beth, the outings are coming up girl, I'm off that weekend in May for the Alden dig!!!!!!, glad you joined up with the club...you'll have such a good time with us finding amazing specimens, I can't wait, I so love Alden..no, I so love NY!!!! It sucks living way down here away from you all..but luckily I have amazing places to keep me busy till I can come up there and play.
