Hmmmm...don't know much about prospecting in your area but Deptdawg (Dave) is from up that way and Railghost (Steve) is in VT so they may be able to help you out with locations. I'll see what I can find out for ya and welcome to the forum.. Smiley..  Sue

Thanks for the welcome, I have had been going to bath nh with a 2" dredge and vt is a tuff state to pan only. I dredged two seasons in bath until the area got closed. I feel that there's dredging going on here in ny. There is no gold and no laws in my area , so dredging for mineral study is what I will be doing in clinton county. Unless someone knows why I can't?

Sue, I'm actually in NH.

Dave is right on the VT laws. If I go to VT I will only go to pan.  $100.00 for a sluice permit for non resident!!  Dave since your up close to Canada have you given crossing the bourder some though?

Dave,
I forget where in this forum it is.  Folks are talking about a book, Adirondack Gold.

http://books.google.com/books?vid=ISBN0925168904

Other folks and myself have been posting up NY Geology info. My post are scattered about the forum.  There is NY gold club  Not sure where they are based out of.  Another thought for you may be Western Mass.

Steve..if you are referring to the NY Gold site that is listed in the last link you provided for research                                          ( http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1958144/prospecting_for_gold_in_new_york_state.html?cat=58) ..that is this place, it's one in the same. It's the link to the old forum.

I was just posting up some links I had found while looking in the subject of NY gold.  Some of this stuff goes around in circles.  I did like the link that talks about the bedrock formations in NY.  It's basic but good info.
